    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

A staging site would also be fine, especially if it is hosted on the same server or uses the same security, firewall or Cloudflare settings as your live website.

If everything works correctly on the staging site, this would indicate that the issue may be specific to the live website or its current configuration. If the staging site is hosted on the same server and we see the same issue there as well, it would be useful to contact your hosting provider and ask them to check whether requests from the Blog2Social server IPs are still being blocked.

This would also match our current findings: when we try to share one of your links from our side, we also do not receive a proper link preview. However, when the same link is shared directly on Bluesky, the preview works.

Therefore, the issue is very likely caused by Blog2Social not being able to retrieve the preview data from your URL. This can happen if access from our server IP is blocked by the server, Cloudflare, a firewall or another security plugin.

You can also send us another URL from the same website or from another website on the same server. If the issue occurs there as well, this would be another strong indication that the server or a security layer is blocking the request.

    Best regards,
    Blog2Social Support

Thank you, I discovered a warning in your Troubleshooting tool, that could be related:
"Kadence Security Pro". What should I do? I do not have heartbeat controlled.

I will further investigate and setup a staging site.

        Hi,

        Thank you for the update.

Yes, Kadence Security Pro could be related, even if you do not have heartbeat control enabled. Security plugins can sometimes block external preview requests, server-to-server requests, REST/API requests or requests from specific IP addresses.

Please check the Kadence Security Pro settings for any firewall, bot protection, request blocking or IP blocking options. If possible, please also test this on the staging site by temporarily disabling Kadence Security Pro and then refreshing the link preview again in Blog2Social.

        The important test would be:
        1. Enter the URL as a link post in Blog2Social.
        2. Refresh the link preview.
        3. Check whether Blog2Social then shows the full automatically generated link preview, including title, description and image.

If the preview works while Kadence Security Pro is disabled, the issue is very likely caused by one of its security settings. In that case, please allow access for the Blog2Social server IPs in Kadence Security Pro or ask your hosting provider to check the security logs.

        IPv4: 178.77.85.168
        IPv6: 2a01:488:42:1000:b24d:55a8:ffb8:ccaf

If the issue still occurs even with Kadence Security Pro disabled, the staging site will help us check whether another server-side security layer, for example Cloudflare or the hosting firewall, is blocking the request.

        Best regards,
        Blog2Social Support
