  • This is not right

I made a copy of my website for a friend, but when he logs on with his social networks, everything is being altered inside my website. Both sites are on different domains and using different databases with no conflicts. For example, he logs on his Facebook account and connect his page using the plugin, but then it also change things on my website. What's happening?

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

This seems to be caused due to copying your website. We always recommend not to copy websites to avoid your described behavior.

There are various ways to adjust this on your websites:
You can avoid this by using a default website without any Blog2Social database entries and then duplicating it for your specific requirements. Installing Blog2Social afterward on the “new” website will avoid any database misconfiguration or unintended behavior.

For your current websites that are duplicated you can try to remove the Blog2Social plugin and remove the leftover database entries of Blog2Social where you face this behavior. Afterward you could try to re-install Blog2Social once again on this individual WordPress environment.

An alternative workaround would be choosing another MySQL table name for your “new” installation and exporting your current entries without the Blog2Social entries and importing them into your new environment (database). This new database would then be required to be configured and specified in the wp-config file of your WordPress installation.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best regards

    Benedikt

Deleting all tables of the plugin is not a problem at all. Just tell me which ones should I delete, please.

I removed the informed tables and uninstalled the plugin. It didn't work.

            Hello,

            Thanks for your response.

Please note that this is caused due to copying your website. I would recommend setting up a new website for your friend without copying your own site to avoid this behavior.

Please let me know if you have any other questions

No can do. It's already copied. I didn't even know this plugin had a problem with copies. So, why is this happening, actually? You're the developer, you should know.

                Hello,

                Thanks for your reply.

Please note that this behavior is caused in your individual WordPress environment due to copying your website. Copying a whole website can cause issues for a lot of plugins.
I would recommend checking the advised steps above or setting up a new website for your friend without copying. Unfortunately, this kind of support is outside of our scope.

Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding Blog2Social.

                Best regards
