  • Autopost finds my images but doesn't post them

We have autopost setup and normally it works fine. Recently it has been a bit hit and miss with images and titles: sometimes it posts them automatically and sometimes they are missing.

I can go in manually via the calendar and click on each post, it finds the image right away and add it - but this kind of defeats the purpose as we post on 5 platforms twice a day to promote our products. Without images and titles it looks seriously unprofessional and utterly pointless.

Can someone suggest a reason this might be happening, or how to fix this easily and please keep it simple as I'm not technical.

If we can't get this fixed we might have to scrap renewing our subscription for Blog2Social.

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

In order to check this for you it would be great if you could send me some links as well as screenshots to your posts on social media where you are facing this behavior.

Please also note that issues with images or link descriptions are often caused by missing or conflicting metadata (Open Graph Tags). The social media networks will always display the information they find in the source code of your link since Blog2Social just sends your link towards them. The following guides show you exactly:
What are open graph tags and what do I use them for?
Troubleshooting: Checklist and solutions for setting Open Graph Tags

I’m looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards

    Benedikt

      Hi
      Thanks for your reply.

Here is an image post on Facebook where it doesn't have the image
6 x 6 Red & Pink Valentine Card Making Kit Every card making kit contains 2x card blanks (colours may vary) with envelopes. Each pack can contain a mixture of the following:...

Then only a week later it randomly finds the image and posts it properly

Both products were created on the same day and social posts scheduled via Autopost when the products were scheduled to go live on the website. The images were uploaded at the time the product was created and most are of the same size 1000px x1000px or 523px x 1000px

        Hello,

        Thanks for your reply.

I think there is a misunderstanding. Your first link is a link post and your second one an image post.
Social Media Post Formats - The differences between Image Post and Link Post

When checking the source code of your link post I noticed that you are using “.webp” image files. I’d recommend using “.jpg” or “.png” image files since they are supported by most networks (screenshot attached).

I also noticed that your website takes a lot of time to process data and I would recommend increasing the performance of it in general since Blog2Social just sends your link towards Facebook. After that, Facebook tries to fetch the necessary information (“og:image” / “og:description”) from your website. If Facebook cannot fetch these in time, this can cause issues.
Please note that this is not caused by Blog2Social.

        These guides show you exactly:
Why is my image not displayed in my social media posts?
What are open graph tags and what do I use them for?
Troubleshooting: Checklist and solutions for setting Open Graph Tags

Please let me know if you have further questions.

        Best regards

          Hi,

You say my first post (on 2nd Jan at 10:15am) was a Link Post type, but when I check the Published Posts section of Blog2Social it shows this as an Image Post, not a Link Post

Also the Facebook Posting Template is setup as Image Post - this was set when I first set it up in 2021 and has not been changed since.

The Preview always shows a Blog Post and never uses a Product so I cannot see how this would look, but the image is present in the Preview.

It's also the same when I schedule a product it creates the auto-post for each social media platform in the calendar but when I go into the post, I have to add the image manually as it doesn't appear.

            Hello,

            Thanks for your response.

I have attached two screenshots for you. One of your link post and one of your image post.

When checking the source code of your link post I noticed that you are using “.webp” image files. Please be so kind as to make sure that your images are “.jpg” or “.png” format since they are supported by most networks, whereas “.webp” files are not supported very often.

Please also note that your website takes a lot of time to process data. I’d recommend increasing the performance of it in general since Blog2Social just sends your link towards Facebook. After that, Facebook tries to fetch the necessary information (“og:image” / “og:description”) from your website. If Facebook cannot fetch these in time, this can cause issues.
Please note that this is not caused by Blog2Social.

Your screenshot of the post templates shows your Facebook “Profile”. If you want to edit your Facebook page templates, please choose “Page” at the top of this window. Here you could choose the “Image” format in general.
How to use post templates for social media posts?

            Best regards
