  • Auto Poster not using correct permalink or pulling featured image

    I am trying to auto post blog posts to Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for our company website (using Blog2Social premium). The posts happen as scheduled, however they are not pulling the pretty permalinks (using /p=239823 as an example) and the featured image is also not being pulled correctly.

    I have tried this Blog2Social managing the open graph data, with Yoast SEO managing the open graph data, or the Avada Theme managing the open graph data (not at the same time) and it doesn't seem to matter which one I use, it's not being pulled correctly.

    I am using LightSpeed Cache, with Browser and Object (memcached) enabled, though I still have issues even when the caching options are completely disabled.

    The problem happens with All In One WP Security both enabled and disabled - the trouble shooting tool within the plugin highlights there is a conflict with AIOWPS but does not specify what the conflict is, and still flags a conflict even with the plugin disabled.

    I have tried enabling and disabling the Legacy Mode.

    I have uploaded the support file generated by the troubleshooting tool.

    Hello,

    Thank you so much for reaching out and thanks for describing your request.

    I checked your .txt log file and have would suggest checking the Blog2Social WordPress plugin system requirements.

    The following step-by-step guide will show you how to solve all common issues related to missing/unfulfilled system requirements
    System requirements for installing Blog2Social

    Please adjust your settings to these values in your environment in possible:

    From:
    "WP_MEMORY_LIMIT": "40M",
    "max_execution_time": "180",

    To:
    "WP_MEMORY_LIMIT": "512M"
    "max_execution_time": "300"

    Regarding your question related to the "pretty URL permalink":
    If a WordPress post has not been published on your website, WordPress assigns a unique technical URL (internal ID) with the ending “?p=012345” as link to your post. This is, because the final permalink (or SEO-slug) of your post can still be edited before the time of publishing and thus will be finally created and related to this technical URL at the time of publishing. This technical URL will always direct to your post, independently of any permalink you choose for your post.

    If you schedule your social media posts before the WordPress post has been published on your website, the Blog2Social plugin can only assign the available technical WP URL to your social media posts, as this is the only reliable link at this point.As soon as your WordPress post is published, Blog2Social will automatically access the permalink (friendly URL) of your post. All social media posts that you schedule after your WordPress post is published, will be automatically shared with the final permalink.

    However, if you have decided on a final slug for your post you can edit the permalink URL by entering this URL in the URL field.

    Please note: If you make any changes to the permalink in your original post afterwards before the time of publishing, it is important to also make these changes in your scheduled social media post to ensure your posts can be reached via this permalink.

    Furthermore:
    Some networks also face issues to publish/share this used .webp image file format you use in your open graph tags. Please consider to work with .jpg / .png images instead if you face further issues while sharing posts on social media with a wrong link preview image or a missing image inside the post.

    Please be so kind as to let me know if these solutions solved your request or if you require further assistance regarding this matter.

    Thank you for your effort and understanding.
    I am looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards
    Alexander
