  • Autoposter for Imported Posts not working

    Hi

I am unable to get the Autoposter for Imported Posts to work.

I use the WP RSS Aggregator plugin to pull in RSS feeds.

Is Blog2Social supposed to be listed under the Connected Apps section of X?

Please look at the attached screenshots and advise us on what to do.

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

May I ask you if you have activated and set up the WordPress user which creates your posts?

Since Blog2Social works WordPress user-based, this means that all settings and network connections can be defined for each WordPress user individually. Therefore, please make sure that every WordPress user (author) who publishes posts that should be auto-posted:
    1. is activated for Blog2Social Premium (How do I activate my license key?)
    2. has X connected (Blog2Social -> Networks)
    3. has activated the auto-poster.

Is Blog2Social supposed to be listed under the Connected Apps section of X?
    Rest assured, that’s not necessary.

    Best regards

    Benedikt

      Thanks for the quick response.

I believe I have all those set correctly.

Please look at the attached screenshots.

        Hello,

        Thanks for your reply.

As far as I can see in your screenshots your WordPress user did not create any posts yet. Therefore, I believe that your posts are being created by another WordPress user, and for this reason, the auto-poster is not being triggered.
Please make sure that every WordPress user (author of the post) who publishes posts that should be auto-posted is set up as suggested previously.

        Best regards

        Benedikt

Ok, my site is an aggregated news site.

I want to post some of the imported posts

I attached a screenshot of some of the posts.

Are you saying that the author of each post has to be me, the administrator?

          Thanks

            Hello,

            Thank you for your response.

If you set up everything as suggested for WordPress user / author A, but user / author B is creating the posts on your website, the auto-poster won’t be triggered because Blog2Social works WordPress user-based.

With your Smart license you can activate 2 users in general and the auto-poster for imported posts supports up to 25 social media posts per day / user.
Pro supports 5 users and 50 social media posts per day / user.
Business supports 10 users and 100 social media posts per day / user.

Here you will find all features and supported networks of the different versions of Blog2Social:
Get the right offer in just a few steps and get started with Blog2Social - Social Media Automation for WordPress and as a WebApp

You could also use the re-sharer to automatically share your already published WordPress posts.
When using the re-sharer you can set up a queue to share your posts on a daily basis. For example, post A on Monday on all of your connected networks, post B on Tuesday, etc.
            Re-share posts automatically

            Best regards

            Benedikt

I think it is working now that I changed the authors to myself.

I noticed that it Added a link-URL to the end of my image post even though it is unticked.

              Is this a bug?

              Thanks

                Hello,

Thanks for your feedback, that’s great to hear.

When trying to reproduce your described behavior, the link was not added to my post.
Is it possible that you have adjusted your X post templates after scheduling your post?

                Best regards

                  Hi

The X post template has the "Add a link-URL to the end of my image post" unticked.

                  I have attached the screenshot.

                  Thanks

                    Hello,

                    Thanks for your response.

Is it possible that you have adjusted your X post templates after scheduling your post?
Please be aware that adjustments of your post templates won’t influence your posts which are already scheduled.

When trying to reproduce your described behavior in a clean test environment, the link was not added to my post (I’ve unticked the box “Add a link-URL to the end of my image post" as well).

                    Best regards

                    Benedikt

When I shared the posts manually, "Add a link URL to the end of my image post" was ticked.

I changed it to unticked before the Auto post for imported posts started working.

It has remained like that since.

I currently do not have any scheduled posts.

                      Thanks

                        Hello,

                        Thanks for your reply.

Please be so kind as to try the following steps:
                        1) Choose the format “Link” and click on “save” in your X post templates.
                        2) Choose the format “Image”, untick the box “Add a link-URL to the end of my image post" if it’s ticked and click on “save”.
                        3) Deactivate the auto-poster for imported posts and click on “save”.
                        4) Activate the auto-poster for imported posts, tick the box “Apply post templates for imported posts” and click on “save”.
                        5) Try sharing a new post via auto-poster for imported posts.

                        Best regards

                        Benedikt

                          Hi

I tried those steps and waited for a few RSS posts to come in, and they all have links.

                          Thanks
