  • Twitter API connected but can't post

We've followed the excellent Blog post to connect with the Twitter API. According to both Blog2Social and Twitter, the API connection is authorised.

After choosing 'Connect Profile' etc, there's a message on the B2S page "Your authorization was successful." and this.

Yet, B2S posts to Twitter aren't going through. Just the standard "The network could not publish your post. Please see the following guide." which isn't much help in this case.

Is there some way to get more details on the exact problem? Our tweets are well within size and content limits so it's almost certainly an API issue. Without precise error messages it's a waste of time and money to chase the problem.

I fear you're getting a lot of similar questions at the moment, sorry to add to the queue.

    Thanks for reaching out.

May I ask you how you proceed when sharing your posts in Blog2Social?

If your content was not posted, it would be helpful if you could send me a screenshot of your notification details. You will find notifications by following this path:
“Social Media Posts” -> “Notifications” -> “Details”

I’m looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards

      Benedikt,

Firstly, just updated to Version 7.2.1 -- made no difference to my problem.

We post by clicking the B2S link in the Edit Post window, then completing the details for Twitter and Facebook - either scheduled or share now.

      Here's the details

        Hello,

        Thanks for your reply.

May I ask you when you did apply for the official Twitter API?
Is it possible to send me a few screenshots like the ones in our Twitter guide via private message so I can take a closer look?

I’m looking forward to your reply via PM.

        Best regards

        Benedikt

We applied for the API a few hours after getting your email a few days ago. I'll try deleted what we have and getting a new API key etc with screen shots - then let you know.

Painstakingly tried again, screen shots at every step. This time it worked (naturally). No idea what the previous problem was.
            Thanks,

Same problem. Deleted all previous API's and recreate a new one just now. Still having problems to connect to Twitter/X.

When I deleted all previous api's Blog2Social was still giving the message below as if there was still something connected with Twitter/X. How can I be sure that all previous links etc to Twitter/X are removed?

              Hello,

              Thanks for reaching out.

Rest assured, this notification "your Twitter Profiles need to be connected" in your “Networks” overview will disappear in an upcoming update. If you have connected successfully, you can ignore this message.

Please let me know if you have further questions

              Best regards

                Hi Benedikt,

Thank you for the reply. No problem if it was only a message that could be ignored. But the messages to Twitter/X are not posted.

No message or anything reporting why it wa snot posted to Twitter/X.

First screenshot he three active connections: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
Second screenshot only Facebook and Instagram are being posted

                  Hello Piet,

                  Thanks for your reply.

As far as I can see in your screenshot, you’re using the auto-poster to share your content. Please note that it’s necessary to refresh your auto-poster settings after connecting your Twitter profile via the official Twitter API in Blog2Social.
After that, please try sharing a new post via auto-poster and let me know if it worked out for you.

                  Best regards

                  Benedikt

                    Hi Benedikt,

Reconnected from Blog2Social to Twitter. Showing that it's connected. But still with new post on blog autoposter works only for FB and Insta. Not for Twitter.

                    Piet

                      Hello Piet,

                      Thanks for your response.

Have you tried setting up the auto-poster again as if you hadn't done it before?
Please be so kind as to try sharing a new WordPress post via auto-poster by clicking on “Publish” / “Schedule in your WordPress post editor afterwards.

                      Best regards

Add me to the list of people with this problem. It worked for a couple of days, now I'm stuck in "need to re-connect". I deleted everything and started over and nothing has worked.

                        Hi Benedikt,

Tried that. The reshulded post did work. But initial auto posting still isn't working.

                          2) Click on save.
                          3) Activate the auto-poster and set it up / select your preferred networks.
                          4) Click on save.

After that, please try sharing a new WordPress post via auto-poster by clicking on “Publish” / “Schedule in your WordPress post editor.
