  • Telegram - Authorization Error

    Hello,

I have followed all of the instructions for adding a telegraph channel to B2S on one of my pages, and I am continuously receiving the "We don't have the permission to publish your post. Please check your authorization" error.

I have tried formatting the channel name differently in the event that I did not enter it correctly, but regardless of my changes, I still receive that error.

    Hello,

Thank you so much for reaching out.

Please be so kind as to answer a few short questions so I could look further into this for you:
    1. Your Telegram channel or group name should contain an “@” + the related channel or group name. Which name did you enter? Please note: Spaces between words are equal to a “_” inside the group or channel name
    2. Please provide us with your Telegram channel or group link. You can find the link in the Telegram channel or group overview in Telegram by clicking on the top bar in your channel or group.
    3. Have you added the created Telegram Bot as an administrator in your group or channel? Please provide us with a screenshot showing your Bot as a group or channel administrator.
You can send these details and screenshots in a private message inside the community to protect your privacy.

The following instructions will guide you through the process of configuring and using Telegram with Blog2Social step-by-step:
How do I connect my website with my Telegram Group or Telegram Channel for auto-posting?

I am looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards

    Alexander

      Hello,

      1. The channel name is Mars Attacks Podcast. I set it up in the plugin as Mars_Attacks_Podcast. Do I have to add @ to the beginning?

      2. Here is the invite link to the channel https://t.me/joinchat/AAAAAEixsgSsPGsa62dpDA

      3. Attached you'll find the screen shot you requested.

I am not sure how to send a private message, that said, the channel is public. It is music related so there is nothing secretive about it.

      Cheers,

      Victor

        Hello,

Thank you for your reply and thanks for providing the requested details.

Please be so kind as to reauthenticate Telegram in the network overview in the Blog2Social plugin and enter the “@” before the name.

Enter “@Mars_Attacks_Podcast” as the Telegram group or channel name. Afterward, you could try to share your content once again. The authorization error should be fixed with the adjusted username. If it still won´t work as intended, please be so kind as to double-check the steps mentioned in the following instructions. They will guide you through the process of configuring and using Telegram with Blog2Social step-by-step with useful screenshots included:

How do I connect my website with my Telegram Group or Telegram Channel for auto-posting?

Please let me know afterward if this solution worked for you.

I am looking forward to your reply.

        Best regards

          Hello,

It automatically adds the @ to beginning of anything you type in the Group Or Channel space when trying to authenticate. I have tried typing it in, or letting the @ added automatically, and it still does not work.

I followed the previous links you sent, which was the page I used to set everything up initially. I never receive an error until I try to post something from WP using the plugin.

I am attaching a screen shot of how I setup the bot, perhaps I set it up incorrectly?

Thank you for all of your help.

          Cheers,

          Victor

            Hello Victor,

Thank you so much for your reply.

As far as I noticed the configuration of your Telegram Bot seems to be correct. The main reason for the authorization error you are facing is the privacy setting of your Telegram channel.

Please make sure to set your Telegram channel as "publically available" in order to allow the previously created bot to share content from your WordPress website.

            Please try the following steps:
            1. Please change the channel from private to publicly available. Choose a URL slug that matches your channel name (It should not contain any invitation URL slug) for example: “t.me/Mars_Attacks_Podcast” and make sure to have the bot as an administrator in your Telegram channel.
            2. Please click on reauthorize the network connection on your networks page in Blog2Social. It is the second icon on the right-hand side of the Telegram entry. Please do not remove the Telegram connection, because you are currently using the free license of Blog2Social. Currently, Telegram is available for Business licenses. To reconnect Telegram, you can upgrade your license.
            3. Enter your Mars_Attacks_Podcast channel name and the 46 character token from the BotFather.

Please try to share your content again afterward.

I am looking forward to your reply.

            Best regards

              Hello Alexander,

Thank you, that worked. Once I made it public, and added a public name I was able to post.

Thanks again for the great support.

              Cheers,

              Victor
