  • Cannot connect to Pinterest with or without Chrome extension

I've reset my Pinterest details to ensure accuracy of P/W
    I've logged out everywhere.
I've used the Chrome extension to authorise Blog2Social to have access to FB, Pinterest, Twitter. Although Chrome won't let me open Pinterest, it doesn't even let me login, it goes straight past to a business hub AU Pinterest domain with a blank webpage. Irrespective I have authorised my Pinterest details.
However, on my Networks window in WP, I don't actually have a +Profile call-to-action button! I've attached a screenshot that gives me an impression that the Pinterest connection has happened partially. As you see in the attached file the call-to-action button is Connect Board, not +Profile?
I have the 30-day premium trial version and have successfully connected FB Profile, Page, and Group, Twitter, Instagram, and 9 SubReddits.

Given the absence of the +Profile button and the appearance of being half way connected (i.e., the Connect Board button in red) isn't something I could find in other Posts. I'm sorry if I missed it.

    Hello,

Thank you so much for reaching out and thanks for describing your request.

As a first step, I would like to clarify:
You will only find the "+Connect Board" button next to Pinterest in the overview of your networks. This is correct, and no button is missing for the profile.

While connecting a board, you will be prompted to access the login form with your individual profile access data.
Would you please be so kind as to provide us with a short video screen recording so we could follow your steps of connecting and authenticating your Pinterest account?

Since no general issue could be reproduced while connecting accounts and sharing content on Pinterest, this would be required in order to be able to look further into this for you.

Thank you for your effort and understanding.
I am looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards
    Alexander

Hi, just to further my troubleshooting I chose to create a whole new business Pinterest account for which the details I'm entering are absolutely accurate.

This was tested on my Android phone to login from scratch, and via the MS Edge to my new account, which I created the board Seated Virtual Gaming.

Logging in via Google and Facebook have been denied in settings, and I avoided connecting Instagram to it.

I don't ever see a +Profile box regardless of the pathway to Networks for adding one from WP taskbar, left panel in WP, or from your right panel when in a B2S screen in WP.

Anyway, I also tested the connection to my new Pinterest account by adding it to the SNAP NextScripts plugin I unfortunately found before finding your platform, as your's does more. Not that it appears this would have paid off given the current issue, but the reason I elaborate is because I tested adding the new account to SNAP; and once I found the session ID it added the channel successfully, but as mentioned I had to use the detailed configuration in SNAP instead of just email login (vrforwheelchairs@gmail.com) and password.

      Session ID [TWc9PSZiNU9iWFV5QkszdSt0ZWhEbDJnNGNaTVNPaHc0ZVE2NH J4TmJVdkNqblVjSGxwd1lnL2JPYXV3NEpaVy9RWjNCUnlzdjRE VGs5VDBOSmoyeG1WVldhWnZRNWlubVBzMmVudXFYMG9mU3JQRT 0mbWwxZW9raDJNOFBvTU5BNTVMVHZKV1BLV2o4PQ==]

Anyway, I tried to attach a screen recording but it says I'm not authorised to upload .mp4 files?

        Hello,

        Thank you for your reply.

Yes, this is correct. You can connect a Pinterest pinboard in the networks overview of Blog2Social.

For clarification, there is no “+Profile” button for Pinterest. I think there is a little misunderstanding.
Please be so kind as to make sure that your Pinterest account has at least one pinboard on which a picture has already been pinned.

You can find further details at:
How do I connect Blog2Social with Pinterest?

If you are still facing issues when connecting to Pinterest, please try using the Blog2Social browser extension (available for Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox).

        You can download it at:

Please also try the Firefox extension.

To do this, you can install the browser extension for your browser and then click on "Connect pinboard" next to Pinterest in the network overview in the Blog2Social plugin as usual.

You don’t need to connect Pinterest with this extension. It just optimizes the authentication process.
Once the browser extension is installed, you can retest to authorize your connection.

Please create a screen recording of this process and provide us with the uploaded download link to your file. You can upload it on any external provider and send us the link. If you would like to protect your privacy, make sure to provide us this link via a private message in the community.

Thank you for your effort and understanding.
I am looking forward to your reply.

        Best regards

The +Profile confusing is coming from your guide to installing Pinterest network account, which clearly shows at the 2nd step a +Profile button in the picture on the guide; according to your reply it isn't accurate so you ought to look into that, we can only go from the instructions you provide in the guide you've linked above, which has no connect board in the image.

I have created a board and I've pinned 2 pin posts for now, it will have more once I can sought out this issue.

I'm even having trouble with this system, I keep getting a security token error that pushes me out this text box until I OK the popup notification. I cannot attach any files, even if I try a screenshot of the 2 error popups about tokens.

          Now I can't even reply.

Oh wait, a refresh of the page stopped it.

This is all very concerning about the validity of using your service. I've followed your instructions to the letter, as above there is a disparity in what you are telling me and the guide. That web extension shows how to configure it in Chrome, etc. But what then, how do I send posts to that? Does that mean I have to manually share them through the extension, or will the extension configure my connection to Pinterest in the WP platform of your plugin? I installed the extension and configured it to my old Pinterest account, seeing as this has caused me a huge hassle in having to change accounts for troubleshooting, but it made no difference to my connection via plugin.

I've added Pinterest successfully via the WebApp in Chrome, but I still can't add it to the plugin. Would you then suggest that rather than using the plugin, I should add all my accounts to the webapp version and use it instead; it appears I'll have to anyway, given I can't add Pintererst to B2S plugin? My question then though, is how do I import my WordPress posts to the webapp in order to be able to share them? Sorry about this, but as best I can tell it isn't my info and method that's wrong.

Do you have any ideas on adding a subreddit I'm joined to on Reddit, but which doesn't appear in the list of drop down choices seen in the screenshot attached. Some of those I'm not even joined, so I don't get how the list is derived?

The list keeps getting longer. None of the posts it says have been shared are in the places where they should be? I just checked 3 subreddits for proof of posting and yet it said it posted 10mins ago. Nothing is on either my profile or the subreddit list? Or the Facebook group added? On FB page OK. Not on FB profile, although I was able to find the share from the waiting to be shared queuefor 3pm, which was half an hour ago. Not on Instagram and not in queue for it either. So in total that's my facebook Group, Pinterest, Reddit (9 subreddits), and Instagram that all showed scheduled for the today and monthly until April that produced a successful summary sheet stating scheduled for all but Pinterest that aren't there. On top of that I have cleared my old scheduled posts twice, despite the apparent deletion of the 48 I needed to correct being done twice. Yet all that happened was it successfully posted to my profile and page on FB, but no others. Yet now I've found a post I haven't scheduled (one in the middle-ish area of my total posts; ones I haven't touched as I first went to share my oldest 10 posts, and now my most recent 5 for later today won't share), meaning either way I haven't touched that post. Your plugin says it autoshares updated posts automatically. Yet I adjusted 38 titles and links to the most recent 38 that should have posted given it was updated in WP. None of them or another one in the group of 10 from yesterday that I re-edited again appear anywhere.

In the Calendar in Chrome webapp I see something like >100 to 14 post shares, despite all queue is WP plugin having been deleted twice. I can't delete them from the Calendar (for which the Calendar in the plugin and the webapp appear very different) in the webapp because there is no delete button in the calendar, which YOU SHOULD ADD. It is far more convenient and faster to interact with the calendar page than it is to wait for scheduled or reshare queues to load and then delete. I have wait times (lag) of up to 5mins waiting for all of my 14 networks to load/connect when sharing posts individually.

I'm at the point of so much confusion. Originally I had the oldest 10 original posts that were formatted incorrectly on my website and thus had to be subtracted very quickly, so I didn't put too many people in a bad mood, that did share correctly. Yet now I cannot even share accurately anything more than my FB page automatically, and my FB Group manually. And what I do get shared to one of my subreddits only, is a post that wasn't shared or adjusted before it shared with the correct formatting. Ergo, I can successfully only control my FB page, and the group (manually due to the time having passed for the setting), and I risk incorrect shares to Reddit. On top of that I keep seeing 13 posts/pages/products appear that aren't in my WP software. I don't have any link to them in WP. I don't sell products yet ~half are products for sale shares, and website pages that don't exist in my website. To date I've had to cancel them sending 3 times. I'm a not-for-profit creator which has no purchase services: advertising, subscribing, or products. And yet your queue keeps setting them up to send as shares from my website. I'm paranoid that I'm going to get banned on most of my SM accounts due to bullshit sharing. The calender continually shows them even when there is nothing in any queue. The apparency of these are a serious security risk and my hosting agency (24x7 WP Support) has confirmed I have no ownership in WP of any of those posts/pages/products.

If I can't get a serious change and soon, I'm afraid I will have to delete your plugin altogether, not just deactivate; and cancel the arrangement to bill me when my free 30 day trial expires. Your starting monthly subscription is something I'd likely go with if these 30 days were successful. But with all the above inconsistencies I can't trust that I won't ruin my profile impression from incorrect sharing or no sharing at all. HELP, I'VE FOLLOWED YOUR GUIDES TO THE LETTER. I had a working plugin yesterday, though not for Pinterest. I've become so confused.

With the webapp and Chrome entension in place and me on my WP backend website in a post to share direct from that page, I cannot add the image for the post. Not by drag-and-drop or clicking on the No Image Thumbnail in the box that appears. I can enter text into the box ok, but I can't risk hitting Share with no image in place. I would be prepared to learn to go with that option, but I cannot work out how to share in it and I only see a guide for installing the webapp and extension, not how to use it in the same ways as the plugin methods. Ergo I don't feel even the teeniest confidence that it could become the better process for me. Then with the false results in the plugin I can't trust that it will send anything even if I could work out how to use in the similar fashion. Will it even share accurately if I did??????

Now you see why my confidence is rattled and I'm thinking of getting rid of your plugin. I haven't mentioned Twitter above; because although there were several repeats that should have appeared only once, your plugin has autiomatically otherwise scheduled my Tweets properly. Making the only actual successful sharing went to my FB page and my Twitter correctly as automatic reshares for updated posts. Speaking of this, the records that apear in the green call to action button are also incorrect. Some of my posts when I reformatted their title and links had recorded in excess of 40 shares per post. According to those records, which I didn't get the calculater out to check, could be as much 40x48 OR 1920 fictitious shares. On the calendar for the 13 shares that aren't in my website in the list and I was seeing up to a few hundred planned for the day; but with an empty scheduled queue.

Please see this most recent example of a manual share of my recent post. Results say I've reached my daily limit on Reddit yet it there is only one post there as seen. Then it says to change my Instagram to business one, it was done before I even installed your plugin. Not to mention that I never saw a single post to Instagram. I wish I did a screenshot of scheduling for my latest post that was scheduled for 16/02/22 + 16/03/22 + 14/04/22 successfully in the report result I got. Now half a day later it's showing all those network errors in the screenshot. None of the items in red are accurate. I even added all networks, not only Pinterest, to the webapp browser version and had no errors other than the Pinterest not configuring properly. Now all my networks are telling me of issues. If I had reached my daily limit on each of the subreddits then I'd be comments galore that I'm posting too much content. Yet there is no posts on my Reddit communities from me, just a foreign share to my Reddit profile section instead of community posts.

I think the best thing to do would be to delete your plugin; whether I try to start from scratch again is a worry, I followed everything to the letter. I'm new to this and I'm a reader, so I don't skim through guides, and I use one everything, not someone who tries first while guessing at the next click. I don't know how to get past the false reports and unknown posts, let alone whether it will be successful next time.

                      What's your advice?

HELLO? Is my support ticket still open? I noticed the subject line states unable to connect Pinterest to Chrome extension. That was accurate until I created the whole new business page for this configuration. However, I have out lined above why that isn't a suitable solution. Has it been handballed to the too hard basket and left?

                          Hello,

Thank you for your detailed reply and thanks for this feedback.

Rest assured, we received your messages and are checking the individual behaviors you mentioned.
Please note that such a large feedback and multiple messages require more time to investigate and reply in detail accordingly.

First of all, I would like to explain shortly the difference between the WebApp and the Plugin solution of Blog2Social.
Both services are independent of each other and are not linked/connected to the content, networks and settings from each other.

The WebApp solution is made for those users that work without WordPress or even without a website since the browser based solutions allows everyone to create and schedule posts regardless of WordPress pages/post or environment related settings.

Since both services are not linked, you are unable to remove scheduled content from the calendar from one solution in the other schedule.

You can find all details about the differences at:

There is currently a detailed step-by-step guide available for the WebApp in German. Unfortunately, the English version is currently in development. As soon as it will be available, we will gladly contact you as soon as possible.

You can work with the WebApp if you prefer this solution, even more, by importing your own RSS-Feed content you could import and this and repost it to supported social media networks.

The following step-by-step guide will show you how to work with RSS feeds in Blog2Social:
How to auto post imported RSS feeds and blog posts on Social Media

                          Regarding your Reddit questions:

Reddit runs on a special policy. Each member receives "karma point" depending on how well his/her comments or posts perform. If the community votes your post up, you will receive "karma points". By implication, you need a certain amount of "karma" to be able to submit your content to the subreddits on the platform.

If your post was not published on Reddit, please log in to your Reddit account and click on your username in the upper right corner. Your profile view will open and you can check your "karma" in the upper right corner, underneath your username.

Additionally, the number of "karma points" required to post to a subreddit can change from topic to topic. Therefore, make sure to know your subreddit before you post to it.
Each subreddit has its own rules. Sometimes the most important rules are displayed right on top of the submitted posts.

But all subreddits also provide their set of rules in the menu on the right-hand side.

Depending on your purpose on Reddit, you should read the rules carefully. Some subreddits strictly prohibit promotional content.
Therefore, if your post has not been posted on Reddit, there are many possible causes. Always make sure to know the preferences of your specific Reddit community.

The following step-by-step guide will show you how to solve common issues related to Reddit:
I submitted a post to Reddit but it was not posted, why?

                          Furthermore:
Did I understand you correctly that you were able to add the Pinterest connection in the WebApp and now on the plugin, or are you still unable to connect your account there, but it worked inside the WebApp with the same credentials and the same browser/extension use?

In order to be able to look further into this case and your WordPress environment, it would be required to provide us with the generated troubleshooting-tool .txt Log file, so I could look further into this for you and check your WordPress website environment if using this solution does not resolve the case as expected.

You will find the Troubleshooting-Tool by following this path:
                          Your WordPress installation -> Blog2Social -> Help & Support -> Troubleshooting-Tool

Please make sure to provide us with this file via a private message in the community in order to protect your privacy.

Regarding your hint in relation to the outdated guide:

Thank you so much for bringing this to out attention. We will update these guides and the included screenshots so they will show the current state of the plugin as soon as possible.

                          Thank you for your understanding.
I am looking forward to your reply via a private message.

                          Best regards
