  • Image not shown on FB? Solution: change some text!

I spent half of the day looking for a solution for the post image isn't shown on FB. I tried everything like resize, check og:image metadata and all, nothing helped. Now I found out if I change the post content text a little, the image shows in FB. Weird, but maybe someone would be interested in my "solution".

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I’ve never heard of other similar cases like this and there can be various reasons for missing images.

In general, issues with images are often caused by missing or conflicting metadata (Open Graph Tags). Facebook and any other social media network will always display the information they find in the source code of your link since Blog2Social just sends your link towards them.
After that, Facebook tries to fetch the necessary information (“og:image”) from your links source code. If it takes too long fetching the information or if there are multiple open graph tags in your source code, this could cause issues. These guides show you:
What are open graph tags and what do I use them for?
Troubleshooting: Checklist and solutions for setting Open Graph Tags

Therefore, please make sure that you’re using only one plugin for setting your open graph tags, that your security plugins are not set too strict and that your website is available so Facebook can fetch your image properly.
Why is my image not displayed in my social media posts?

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best regards

    Benedikt
