    Hello Piet,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Looking at the screenshots you provided, it appears you are comparing Link posts with Image posts on Facebook.
Screenshot 1 shows a Link post, which automatically pulls metadata (like a preview image and description) from your website URL. Clicking on the image will direct you to your website.
Screenshot 2 shows an Image post, where the focus is on the uploaded graphic. Clicking on the image will enlarge it.

With Blog2Social, you have the flexibility to choose between these formats according to your preferences. To help you set this up correctly, please take a look at these guides:
Social Media Post Formats - The differences between Image Post and Link Post
How to use Post Templates for Social Media Posts?

Please note: Changes to the post templates won’t apply to posts which are already scheduled in Blog2Social.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best regards

    Benedikt

      Hi Benedikt,

When using the link option then the previw images is not apearing. But then the link is working. now only need to see the image there also. (It's always featured in the orginal wordpress post).

In the preview when I look to the template settings the image is shown.

        Hello Piet,

        Thanks for your response.

There are a few reasons why your images (link previews) might not appear as expected. Usually, this is caused by missing or conflicting metadata (specifically Open Graph tags) within your website's source code. In some cases, firewalls or security plugins may also block Facebook from fetching your content.
Please be aware that Blog2Social only shares your link to Facebook. Once shared, Facebook is responsible for pulling the preview data directly from your website’s source code.

Facebook uses the “og:image” and “og:description” to generate link previews. To ensure your content displays correctly, follow these best practices:
-Ensure security plugins aren't blocking Facebook’s crawler from accessing your website.
-Use a single SEO plugin to avoid conflicting tags.
-Verify that your images meet Facebook’s recommended size and format guidelines so they load properly.
-If you're using the auto-poster, ensure your website meets the system requirements and try adding a delay of 5-10 minutes in the auto-post settings.

        Kindly refer to these guides:
Why is my image not displayed in my social media posts?
What are open graph tags and what do I use them for?

Alternatively, I would suggest switching your Facebook post format to ”Image Posts” and placing the link within the text or the first comment to continue driving traffic to your website. When using Image Posts, Blog2Social uploads your image directly to Facebook, which should resolve your mentioned issue.
How do I post content as the first comment of my social media post?

        Best regards

        Benedikt

          Hi Benedikt,

This helps. Thank you. Looks like Blog2Social is not presenting the URL correct. Is a relative URL and should be the whole string (I think)

Should I disable the OGMT tags in Blog2Social and install an other plugin for that?

            Hello Piet,

            Thank you for your reply.

It seems there might be a slight misunderstanding. Blog2Social correctly sets the Open Graph tags for your posts.
I have checked this link of your Facebook post using the Facebook Sharing Debugger, and Facebook returned the following error (please see the attached screenshot):
            Bad Response Code
URL returned a bad HTTP response code.
This response code could be due to a robots.txt block. Please allowlist facebookexternalhit on your sites robots.txt config to utilize Facebook scraping

To ensure that Facebook can access your website data and display your featured images correctly, please check this with your webmaster or hosting provider.

Please keep in mind that Blog2Social simply transmits your link to Facebook. The rest of the process (including how the preview is generated) is handled entirely by Facebook’s own systems and lies outside of our sphere of influence. This is confirmed by the fact that the image of your link does not appear when checking it with the Facebook Sharing Debugger tool itself.

If you cannot solve it, I'd recommend using the 'Image Post' format instead. If you put the link in the text or the first comment, you’ll still get that website traffic, but since Blog2Social uploads the image directly, it should resolve your mentioned behavior.
How do I post content as the first comment of my social media post?

Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding Blog2Social.

            Best regards

            Benedikt

              Hi Benedikt,

Problem solved. Disabled all "Open Graph meta" settings in Blog2Social and now is working like I wish it to work.

                Hello Piet,

                Thanks for your feedback.

Please be aware that this issue was not caused by Blog2Social's Open Graph tags. As shown in the screenshot I previously attached, the core problem is that Facebook was unable to access your website's data.
While your Open Graph tags were previously being set by both Blog2Social and Jetpack, I noticed that there are currently no Open Graph tags at all in your website's source code. This absence of OG tags could lead to further display issues moving forward.

Should you encounter any further difficulties, I kindly ask you to review the troubleshooting steps mentioned previously.

                Best regards

                Benedikt
