  • Autopost of programmed publication on Facebook showing the wrong image

Hi. I planned the publication of a post on my site. I had set Blog2Social to share the post on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. On Facebook, the result showed the site's logo (not the image of the post) and at the bottom of the Facebook post I could see "404" even though when I clicked on the link I could open the correct post. How did this happen?
is it possible that Blog2Social loaded on Facebook the wrong address, since the post hadn't been published at the moment of the planning?
Thanks for helping me sorting out this problem.

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out. The issue you're experiencing may occur when the post isn’t fully published at the moment the autopost is sent to Facebook. In that case, Facebook's scraper might not retrieve the intended image and URL correctly—instead, it defaults to your site's logo and shows a “404” error for the link.

To verify what Facebook sees for your link, please use Facebook’s Sharing Debugger tool: Facebook Sharing Debugger

Simply enter your post URL into the tool, and it will show the preview Facebook has cached. If the content is outdated or incomplete, you can use the tool to refresh Facebook's cache.

Additionally, if your site processes content or publishes with a slight delay, you might consider using the delay feature in Blog2Social. This way, the post will be fully live before it is shared on Facebook, ensuring that the correct image and content are loaded.

I hope this helps clear up the issue. Let us know if you have any further questions!

    Best regards,
    Philippe
