  • Image not show in posts

    Hi
I have a problem in posting articles on Facebook.
When Facebook share is configured, the URL field has the preview link and not the permlink of the article.
In fact if I post it on Linkedin and Facebook the image is not shown.

Below is the image of the post on facebook and linkedin, where the posted url is visible.

    Hi VANTech ,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand you're facing an issue with posting articles to Facebook, where the URL field shows a preview link instead of the permalink, leading to problems with images not being displayed.

I checked the link you provided, and it seems that the article was not available. Additionally, when I tested another link using Facebook's Sharing Debugger tool, Facebook returned an error: "URL returned a bad HTTP response code." This suggests that the issue might not be related to Blog2Social but rather with how the URL is being handled on your site.

To address this, you can check the issue using the Facebook Sharing Debugger here: Facebook Sharing Debugger. This tool can provide more insights into the problem.

I also noticed that your site’s source code includes OG meta tags from multiple plugins, including Blog2Social and Rank Math. When multiple plugins try to define these tags, it can confuse social media platforms, leading to issues like the one you're experiencing. To avoid conflicts, I recommend using only one plugin to manage your OG meta tags. If you want to make adjustments in Blog2Social, it’s best to let Blog2Social handle these tags.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you need further assistance.

    Best regards,
    Philippe

      Thank you for reply.
Inside wp post there is correct permalink.
I schedule post in my web site and contestual auto posting in configured networks.
Maybe the issue is that when I configure auto posting post the post is still scheduled not published.
Is it possible to make blog2post use the permalink to share the article?

      Regards
      VANTech

        Hi VANTech

        Thank you for your response.

It seems like the issue could be related to the fact that the post is still scheduled rather than published when auto-posting. By default, Blog2Social uses the temporary preview link generated by WordPress for scheduled posts. However, in the Pro version, we offer a feature called "Use custom permalinks for scheduled posts". This allows Blog2Social to share the actual permalink of the article instead of the preview link (e.g., "yourwebsite.com/?p=123").

You can activate this feature in your pro licence. It’s located under Settings in Blog2Social and can be customized to use personalized permalinks when scheduling posts for unpublished articles.

However, I also noticed a 403 error (permission denied) for your internal link. This may prevent social media platforms from properly accessing your site’s content. You could also ensure that the internal link is accessible for social media crawlers (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) to avoid similar issues in the future. You can test your URL using the Facebook Sharing Debugger to see if it's accessible.

Let me know if you’d like to proceed with the trial or if you have any further questions.

        Best regards,
        Philippe

          Hi
          thanks for the feedback.
I confirm you that by enabling the option now on Facebook there is no problemim, however on Linkedin it does not work.

I noticed that the proposed url looks like this:

Advanced Tickets Now on Sale! Step back in time and relive the glory days of WWII aviation at this premier all-warbird air show, featuring Living History Encampments and thrilling vintage aircraft demonstrations.

which also manually Linkedin rejects, changing it to

Advanced Tickets Now on Sale! Step back in time and relive the glory days of WWII aviation at this premier all-warbird air show, featuring Living History Encampments and thrilling vintage aircraft demonstrations.

manually it works. Is there any other option to turn on or off?

          Thank you

              Hello,

              Thanks for your feedback.

I could imagine that you have ticked the box “Activate Instant Caching” in your post templates in Blog2Social. If you do not want to add the no_cache parameter, I’d recommend unticking it.
How to use post templates for social media posts?

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

              Best regards

              Benedikt
