  • Bluesky link template not using link cards

    Hi!

Your Bluesky link template used to take links and present them as link cards, and that's not been working for some weeks now.

Here's an example of the current output: https://bsky.app/profile/stevivor.co.../3mbrydmpaoe2p

And an example of how it used to output: https://bsky.app/profile/stevivor.co.../3m6rvrgmlsq2s

Also attached is the template for reference.

Is there any chance of getting link cards back in action, please and thanks?

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I tried to reproduce the issue you mentioned, and the Bluesky link post worked fine on my end. I've attached a screenshot of the result.

Are you running the latest version (8.7.3) of Blog2Social?
Also, did you make any changes to your website around the time this problem started?

I’m looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards

    Benedikt

Thanks for getting back to me. I can confirm I'm using the latest version of the plugin, and that I've not made any changes that I think would account for this.

I've tried resetting my network connection (in B2S, specifically Bluesky) and using the default template, but with no luck.

        Hello,

        Thanks for your response.

As far as I can tell, 7 of your last 8 posts were displayed correctly by Bluesky. Have you made any changes recently?
Please keep in mind that Blog2Social only forwards your post's link to the respective network. The link preview itself is generated by the network, based on your website's source code and Open Graph tags.

Since your Open Graph tags appear to be correct, it seems Bluesky occasionally encounters issues crawling and displaying them from your source code.
Have you tried contacting Bluesky support regarding this matter?

        Best regards

        Benedikt

Thanks for the response, and sorry for my delay. Any cards displaying are as a result of me bypassing Blog2Social and posting by hand. I guess I'll chalk this up to 'not your problem'.

        Hello,

        Thanks for clarifying.

Have you had a chance to contact Bluesky support regarding this?

We haven't been able to replicate this on our end, and since Blog2Social simply passes your links along, it seems to be an isolated case. Given that no other users have reported this yet, we recommend reaching out to Bluesky support to see what might be causing it on their side.

        Best regards

        Benedikt
