  • Website breaks after activating blog2social

    Hi,

First of all, I want to congratulate you guys on the very good plugin you have created. I used it with great success a couple of years ago. I wanted to install it on a new project I am working on, and every time I activate it it constantly breaks the website, as in it takes very long to load the website.

I am using an Elementor Pro theme created by the Apollo13 team and disabled any SEO plugins was using still, it behaves the same, as it causes a 503 error. I checked that all the requirements are met (including the troubleshooting tool in the plugin) and everything is a go. I even asked the hosting company to increase the PHP memory limit and upgrade my hosting package, with no improvement. After I disabled the plugin, everything worked fine. I would really like to use this plugin, can you please help me?

    Hello Silviu,

Thanks for reaching out and your awesome feedback.

May I ask you if you have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Blog2Social on your website?

If you are still facing issues afterwards, I’d recommend checking if another plugin / theme is causing this on your website by using the “Health Check & Troubleshooting” plugin from WordPress.
This plugin is intended for such cases and will perform a number of checks on your WordPress installation to detect common configuration errors and known issues, and also allows plugins and themes to add their own checks. With the “Health Check & Troubleshooting” plugin you can simulate to deactivate all plugins except Blog2Social and activate one after the other to see which plugin is causing this.

Please let me know if it worked out or if you have any other questions.

    Best regards

    Benedikt

      Hi Benedikt,

I used the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin as instructed, and it seems the theme itself is not compatible with the Blog2social plugin. The theme in discussion is https://rifetheme.com/raven/, elementor version. When I activate the theme itself together with the blog2social plugin, it takes up to 60000 ms to load the website, or it simply gives a 503 error.

I discussed this with the hosting company and after running checks, they assured me that this is a code-related issue and not a server-related issue or a PHP version-related issue. It would be wonderful if you could provide a solution to this issue, so I don't have to remake the whole website using a different theme

        Hello Silviu,

        Thanks for your response.

I can assure you that Blog2Social is compatible with most themes and plugins which follow the usual WordPress routine, but it seems that your theme does not follow this routine.
Therefore, I would recommend contacting the theme developers to figure out if they can adjust it. Unfortunately, this is outside of our scope of influence.

Please let me know if it worked out properly afterwards.

        Best regards

        Benedikt
