  • Blog2Social shows ERROR-CODE: CONNECTION on all sites

We keep getting a Connection error with Blog2Social on all of our sites. Sites are up and running as normal.

The connection to your server has been interrupted. Please make sure that your blog is reachable. If your server does not respond or is too slow, Blog2Social cannot connect to the internet. Try again later or contact your webmaster, if this error message persists.

    Hello Paul,

Thank you so much for reaching out and thanks for describing the issue you are facing.

Would you please be so kind as to answer a few short questions so I could look further into this for you?

Have you enabled a third-party WordPress security plugin recently?
It would be awesome if you could check the Blog2Social Trouble-Shooting-Tool.

This often helps to identify general conflicts that could cause that Blog2Social can not work like intended on your WordPress installation.

Follow this path to check the Troubleshooting-Tool. Screenshot any visible conflict inside the tool :
    Your WordPress installation -> Blog2Social -> Help & Support -> Troubleshooting-Tool

Please be so kind as to screenshot that page within Blog2Social and also please generate and download the .txt file and send it to us.

Please have a look at the following screenshot as a reference:

If you do not notice any visible conflict in your troubleshooting-tool it would be awesome if you could try to enable the legacy mode within the Blog2Social settings to optimize the sharing process on your WordPress installation.

An overload or lack of server capacity can cause the Blog2Social dashboard to freeze or not load at all. If your website is hosted on a server with low server capacity, you can turn on the Blog2Social Legacy Mode to reduce server load.

In Legacy Mode, the plugin will load contents one after the other (asynchronous loading) instead of loading all at once.
Some web hosting services also limit the number of outgoing connections. In this case, the Legacy Mode makes sure that connections to your social media accounts are loaded successively.

To activate Legacy Mode, go to “Blog2Social -> Settings -> General -> System” and tick the box saying “activate Legacy Mode”.

Please have a look at the following screenshot as a reference:

Please let me know if these solutions work for you.

I am looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards

    Alexander
